The age calculator gives an exact age from a date of birth to today or to any date you choose: complete years first, then the remaining months and days, and separately the total number of days lived. It counts completed years, so someone a day short of a birthday is still recorded at the earlier age — which is how nearly every form and every threshold treats it.
Precision matters more in the UAE than the question suggests, because so much here runs against a documented age. School year placement uses cut-off dates that differ between curricula, dependants' residence permits are governed by age bands, insurance categories step at particular ages, and a range of federal thresholds are written in whole years. Two children born a fortnight apart can end up in different school years, and two applications lodged the same week can fall under different rules.
Leap-day births are handled the way the calendar forces: with no 29 February in a common year, the anniversary is treated as 28 February, and the exact date returns every fourth year. The total-days figure is the one to use when comparing two ages precisely, since the years-months-days form carries a rounding decision inside it that a plain day count does not.
