Three of the five years from 2026 to 2030 place Eid Al Adha in May, and three place the Hijri New Year here as well, so the two can share a single month. Both are declared by the Cabinet after the crescent is sighted rather than worked out in advance, which is why a UAE calendar printed a year ahead carries an expected date and not a settled one.
May sits in the middle of the second quarter of 2030, with Europe on summer time and the UAE exactly where it always is. The gap to London holds at three hours through the whole month, and the effect for anyone working across both is a morning overlap an hour longer than the same month in winter would give.
The turn from May into June takes the country into the four months it exports its residents from. May 2030 hands over the last weeks of the school year to the month that ends it, and the last weeks before the departure halls begin running at capacity from early morning to late at night.
