This counts the days from today to a date you choose, and reports the total in days, the equivalent in weeks and days, and the weekday the target lands on. It is the plainest of these tools and the most used.
In the UAE the everyday applications are documentary: residence permit and Emirates ID validity, tenancy contract expiry, vehicle registration renewal, trade licence dates, school term starts, and the notice windows written into service agreements. One caution — grace periods are counted according to the wording of the document or the rules of the issuing authority, which is not always a plain count of calendar days from the date shown on the card. Read the source before relying on the number for anything with a consequence attached.
Countdowns to the two fixed public holidays, 1 January and the December pair, are exact and will not change. Countdowns to Ramadan, either Eid, Arafah Day, the Hijri New Year or Mawlid are provisional: the date is an astronomical projection until the Council for Fatwa confirms the sighting and the Cabinet announces the days off, and both a one-day sighting difference and a deliberate transfer of the day off can move the target.
