Eid Al Adha falls in April in two of the five years from 2026 to 2030, preceded by Arafah Day and followed by two further days off — four consecutive holidays, the longest block on the UAE calendar. In the other three years the same block sits in May. Nothing else in April is a public holiday in any year of this decade.
Leave in April 2029 splits in two directions. Anyone whose year places the Eid block here builds around it; everyone else takes the last week that still works outdoors, or holds the allowance back for July and August, when the schools close and the heat makes leaving the country the more attractive use of it.
The move from April into May takes the country into the part of the calendar that is planned around rather than enjoyed. April 2029 hands over the last tolerable evenings to a month in which the sea passes 30°C and the cooling load on the national grid begins setting its annual records.
