Outdoor working hours begin changing during April in practice, and by law shortly afterwards: the midday break rule bans work in direct sun between 12:30 pm and 3 pm from the middle of June to the middle of September. Sites shift to early starts well before the rule bites, and by the end of April 2027 the first shift on most of them is under way before sunrise.
Leave in April 2027 splits in two directions. Anyone whose year places the Eid block here builds around it; everyone else takes the last week that still works outdoors, or holds the allowance back for July and August, when the schools close and the heat makes leaving the country the more attractive use of it.
The move from April into May takes the country into the part of the calendar that is planned around rather than enjoyed. April 2027 hands over the last tolerable evenings to a month in which the sea passes 30°C and the cooling load on the national grid begins setting its annual records.
