Countdown to 4:00 am according to your device's time.

Four in the morning is close to the dawn prayer for much of the year. Fajr falls somewhere between about 4:15 am at midsummer and just before 5:30 am in the depth of winter, moving a minute or two every day, which makes it the one daily marker here that no fixed clock time can replace.

In Ramadan the same hour carries suhoor, the meal taken before first light, and the whole night reorganises around it — kitchens, delivery services and family visiting all run late so that everyone is awake and fed before the fast begins.

Outside Ramadan it belongs to early departures: airport runs for the morning bank of flights, and desert drives leaving in the dark so that the dunes can be reached at sunrise. A countdown to four in the morning is usually a countdown to leaving the house.
